Four new MFPs launched to “increase office productivity in an environmentally responsible manner”.
Ricoh announced the release of the MP C2003SP, MP C2003ZSP, MP C2503SP and MP C2503ZSP A3 colour MFPs, which feature an “innovative” touch-and-swipe operation panel “similar to iPad and Android devices”; a “unique” stapleless stapler that allows five pages to be bound without using a staple, thus saving resources and preventing the glass platen from being scratched during scanning; and Ricoh’s GWNX advanced controller, powering features such as remote fax, USB/SD printing, a customisable home page and information screen.
The devices boast a warm-up time of 19 seconds and a first print time of 7.5 seconds, with print speeds reaching up to 25 pages per minute. Described as “stylishly designed” and “slim”, the MFPs take up minimal office space and are said to be “extremely quiet” when in operation, while fans stop operating during sleep mode. Their Total Electricity Consumption is also stated to be “among the lowest in the sector”.
Distributed Scan Management is another feature of the devices, used to increase efficiency by allowing scanning conditions and destination to be set automatically; while ID Card Copy enables both sides of a document to be simultaneously copied and the Searchable PDF function saves time looking for documents.
The devices support SRA3 format, allowing crop marks to be printed for more efficient proofing; and during simplex operation they can take paper weighing up to 300 g/m², as well as printing on envelopes with the help of a standard envelope feeder.
In terms of image quality, Ricoh states that due to the devices’ internal finisher, high-quality documents are produced; while real-time process control ensures “outstanding” image clarity by stabilising image colour density, and colours can be fine-tuned through the use of ‘before’ and ‘after’ pictures.
