Xerox to hire 90 staff in Kentucky

WKYT reported on the new roles made available by Xerox in Knox County, Kentucky, with the “newly created” jobs in production coming at a time when local official state that the “area needs new jobs”. 50 staff have already been hired before the 90 roles became available, giving the area a total of 140 new posts.

The jobs were advertised at a job fair hosted by the KCEOC Community Action Partnership, with “dozens of people” turning up to apply for the Xerox posts, and 150 applying in total. The new roles are said to pay employees “at least $10 (€7.28) an hour”, and are full-time, with the extra investment helping “create more spending money to help other businesses” in the region.

Prospective employee Kelli France stated that “every call centre of decent job you can find […] is filled up” in the region, with the roles Xerox is offering said to “definitely help […] a lot of people in this town financially”. The roles are in production, with applicants needing to past drug and background checks to be employed.

KCEOC’s Brandy Crase added: “With such a small population in the tri-county area, such a big employer coming to area is a big deal for the economy. These jobs are sustainable so we’re hoping that the people who are applying today will be able to make full-time careers out of this and stay for a long time.”
