The largest manufacturer of aftermarket imaging systems and components has seen 66 toner products meet Nordic Swan regulations.
The company stated that the products had “passed the stringent testing required” by the Nordic Swan ecolabel, adding that they “met the necessary environmental and quality criteria”, and customers can now “successfully apply for the license to place the Ecolabel [on] remanufactured cartridges that use the applicable toners”.
Static Control noted that “it is estimated that 91 percent of the Nordic population recognise this trademark and its high credibility”, adding that “it is fast becoming an accreditation required throughout Europe as an environmental and qualitative benchmark”, with consumers using it “as a tool to identify the products that are environmentally-sound and of high quality”.
It went on to state that “by associating their cartridges with this label, genuine remanufacturers can use the trademark in their marketing, strengthen their quality image and expand their business opportunities”. Static Control already manufactures products to meet the ISO 14001:2004 standard, with the latest recognition by Nordic Swan “a further illustration of its commitment to environmentally-friendly products and practices”.
Tom Claessens, Technical Manager at Static Control Components (Europe), stated: “The Nordic Ecolabel offers a valuable way for our customers to differentiate themselves from their competition. It communicates less waste, lower consumption of energy and raw materials, and high standards of quality and functionality to the consumer.
“We appreciate the benefit this offers to remanufacturers and are looking to submit more toners in the future.”
