Spanish remanufacturer releases details of charges companies may incur if clones are found among empties collected by Consuprint.

Consuprint’s Javier Martinez has provided details regarding the company’s new policy of charging companies for the handling and disposal of clone cartridges should such products be found among empty cartridges collected by or sent to the remanufacturer; with a fine of €15 ($21) per unit to be administered.

The company stated that the fine would apply to “the presence of consumables that violate the intellectual property rights of the manufacturer and/or violate the regulations due respect for the environment, and protect the safety of workers (as REACH, CLP or any other applicable regulations)”, noting that such products would “not be suitable for reuse” and would therefore “accrue a minimum charge of €15 per unit”.

It added that the company “are not responsible for any damages that the use and subsequent storage of this type of product would cause”. If your company is or is considering a similar charge, let us know in the comments or at news@therecycler.com.
