The distributor has announced chips, toners and components for Lexmark, Kyocera and Dell cartridges.

Of the four product launches, two are in the company’s Absolute Black range, and one each in the Absolute Color and X Generation ranges. The first launch is a smartchip and Absolute Color toner for use in Lexmark’s C540, 543, 544 and 546 colour printers, which Uninet adds feature “outstanding colour printing” with print speeds of 21 and 25ppm, as well as print resolutions of 1,200 x 1,200dpi. The machines are “small footprint” and quiet, making them “very popular for small office environments”.

The cartridges for which the toners and chips have been produced are toner-only, and are rated at 1,000, 2,500, 4,000 and 8,000 pages in black and 1,000, 2,000 and 4,000 pages in colour. Uninet notes that “no other supplies” for these cartridges “are replaced under normal usage”, and that the printers are “no longer sold, but there is a very large installed base of machines”, and chips have not been available until now, so there is a “good opportunity for those who have access to the empties”.

The company added that “these are potentially very profitable cartridges because they are considered easy to remanufacture”, with cartridges only requiring “refilling with toner [and] replacing the smartchip, and will be ready to go in minutes”, with Uninet providing a complete remanufacturing solution for customers.

The first of the two Absolute Black releases is toner and components for Kyocera’s FS 4200 TK 3124, 3122, and 3120 monochrome laser printers, with the 4200 a recently-launched machine with speeds of 50ppm and a 1,200dpi resolution. Uninet noted that this is “another workhorse printer, and the drum and developer last 500,000 pages in this machine”, with the only replaceable item being the toner.

The cartridges are available in three different versions: the TK-3100 with a yield of 12,500 pages, the TK-3110 with 15,000 pages, and the TK-3130 with 25,000 pages. Uninet notes that these are again “potentially very profitable” due to their ease of remanufacture, and it also offers a complete remanufacturing solution for them.

Uninet’s X Generation colour toner and components launch this month is for Lexmark’s C/X 950, 952 and 954 colour printers, with the first a high-speed colour laser printer with speeds of 50ppm and A3 printing at 1,200 dpi resolution, and all three are targeted at “large workgroups” and “designed to run well in high volume applications”.

The company noted that the imaging units are rated at 115,000 pages and the toners at 32,000 pages in black and 22,000 pages in colour, with duplexing as standard and optional finishing, and Uninet also offers a complete remanufacturing solution for the cartridges.

Finally, the second Absolute Black release is toner and components for Dell’s B2375 MFP monochrome machine, which features a print speed of 40ppm, a 600dpi resolution and duplexing, and which Uninet states is a “very complete printer”, with two cartridges in 3,000 and 10,000 page versions. Uninet again offers a complete remanufacturing solution for the cartridges.
