GfK report shows inkjet and toner cartridge sales increase.
The March 2014 report from analysts GfK, the latest in its Market-I report series, analyses the “UK retail durable sectors”, with the office section – including printer cartridges – seeing a year-on-year growth of 0.4 percent, giving the market a value of £1.7 billion ($2.8 billion/€2 billion).
Between January and March this year alone, the office sector grew by 5.7 percent, adding £400 million ($673 million/€485 million) to its market value, whilst in March the sector grew by 4.8 percent alone, adding £100 million ($168 million/€121 million) in value.
In addition, the office market saw a 73 percent increase in online sales in the last year, whilst the “positive performance” of printer consumables was said to be a factor in the office section’s positive results, with inkjet cartridge sales growing by one percent year-on-year and laser cartridge sales growing by 16 percent.
