Hironao Katsukura succeeds Jun Okumura as company’s MD.
Kyocera Document Solutions UK Ltd. announced that it has appointed Hironao Kasukura as its new Managing Director, after he has served the company for over 17 years in numerous roles both in Japan and Europe.
Graduating in 1990, Katsukura joined Kyocera in a number of sales positions until moving to Europe in 1997 to assume a role in the company’s Export Division. He then returned to Japan in 2004, spending four years in charge of Business Development Sales to Strategic Partners in the US, China and Japan; followed by his role as General Manager of the Sales Division supporting the company’s subsidiaries in the US, Asia, Europe and Japan. He then returned to Europe in 2012 as head of the European Corporate Sales Division supporting its 16 sales companies, before taking on his new position.
Commenting on his new role, Katsukura said: “I would like to thank Mr Okumura for his five years of contribution to Kyocera Document Solutions in the UK and wish him all the best in his new role. Kyocera has seen phenomenal growth in the UK – 77 percent in the last three years alone. My job will be to accelerate this momentum and transform the organisation with a focus on services. I look forward to working with the UK team and our valued partners to develop our UK & Ireland business further.”
The OEM stated that it has averaged a 7.1 percent year-on-year growth for the last five years across Europe, outgrowing the market in 2013, and added that “with a structured strategy the firm will continue to evolve into a solutions company offering a streamlined approach combining hardware, software and services”.
