The DocuCentre SC2020 has been designed by the OEM to be an “affordable” colour MFP “catering to SoHo/SMB needs” in the Asia-Pacific market, and is an A3 machine “equipped with Fuji Xerox’s longstanding colour printing technologies”, with the release for all of the Asia-Pacific region except Japan.

The machine features colour print and copy speeds of 20 ppm, a print resolution of 1,200 x 2,400 dpi, and an LED printhead “equipped with the newly-developed self-scanning light emitting device” called the Current Confinement Self-Scanning Light Emitting Device. This LED emits light which is “efficiently increased by controlling and confining” the light’s pathways, so that the LED printhead can “effectively emit light” and thus create high-definition, low-energy prints.

The machine offers other smaller features such as the ability to print “both sides of an ID card or a two-page document” side-by-side on a single sheet of paper, as well as a “simple user interface” and mobile application compatibility with iOS and Android devices. Scan speeds reach 24 ppm for monochrome and 19 ppm for colour, and an automatic duplex function can continuously print “up to 999 pages per job”.

Toner consumption is reduced by “calibrating toner density” in three settings: “Light”, “Lighter” and “Lightest” – whilst the machine itself has a low typical electricity consumption (TEC) and low wattage in sleep mode.

The OEM stated: “According to Fuji Xerox’s study, the projected market growth of 11 to 20 ppm A3 colour multifunction devices from 2012 to 2015 is approximately 10 percent for the Asia-Pacific markets and more than 10 percent for the China market. With [the] DocuCentre SC2020, Fuji Xerox aims to capture this market growth opportunity and contribute to the business efficiency of its SOHO/SMB customers.”
