Former HP employee Matthew Smith joins OEM as Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Printing Solutions.
Samsung announced the appointment of Matthew Smith to the role within its Enterprise Business Division leadership team, where he will be responsible for managing B2B sales, developing and maintaining channel relationships and driving market share growth for the company’s print business.
Smith, who is a graduate of Purdue University and holds an MBA from Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, previously worked for HP, where he was responsible for channel marketing, marketing development, and communications for Print and PC for the United States and Canada.
In his new role, one of Smith’s “first major initiatives” will be a B2B marketing campaign demonstrating how to “do it all by doing less” through the utilisation of new technologies in Samsung’s ProXpress line, such as NFC, mobile print and one-touch eco mode.
Commenting on his new position, Smith said: “Samsung is in an exciting place in the print market, with an awarding-winning product portfolio and a unique ability to deliver smarter and more connected solutions that help businesses and other organisations unlock new potential. We are looking to present some new ideas and be a little disruptive in the way we showcase print as a part of a broader IT strategy.”
Tod Pike, Senior Vice President at Samsung’s Enterprise Business Division, said: “Matthew brings with him a wealth of industry knowledge that will be incredibly valuable as we continue to deliver an enhanced business experience, a significant part of which is printing solutions. We look forward to his expertise and a fresh perspective as we evolve our B2B print offerings and deliver on our vision of providing smarter, more connected and cost-effective technology experiences.”
