OEM to release eight devices for SMBs printing up to 5,000 pages per month.
Techradar reported on Brother’s launch of eight new business colour laser printers next month, with the printers designed for small and medium companies printing “around half a ream per day” as the company seeks to “extend its dominance of the mono laser market” to that of the “more competitive” colour market.
The new printers consist of the L8000 series, which includes six printers with high-yield or super high-yield cartridges; and the L9000 series, which is only available with super high-yield cartridges. All of the devices feature automatic duplex, a 128 MB memory, and compatibility with applications supporting bring your own device (BYOD) schemes, such as Airprint, Google Cloud Print and Brother’s iPrint&Scan.
Print speeds of up to 30 ppm can be reached by the devices, which also feature “Wi-Fi Direct, wired LAN, NFC and a page cost of 6.5p ($1.08/€0.80) per A4 page”.
The printers are available for standalone purchase or as part of Brother’s MPS scheme from next month.
