cfk_608x376UK remanufacturer teams up with Manchester-based radio station Key 103 to raise money for ‘Cash for Kids’ through cartridge collection scheme.

XL Office Solutions (XLOS), which merged with MPS company Costa Copy earlier this year, has announced that its free cartridge collection service is raising money for the charity, which helps disadvantaged children in Greater Manchester.

The collection service sees XLOS supply free recycling boxes to customers, who then let the company know when the cartridges are ready to collect, with collection done within 48 hours. All proceeds from returned cartridges are then donated to ‘Cash for Kids’.

Sian Hawkrigg of Key 103 ‘Cash for Kids’, said: “Key 103’s charity Cash for Kids provides a helping hand to disadvantaged children across Greater Manchester. All money raised will be spent locally and go to children and young people under 18 throughout our city.

“Sadly our city has the highest levels of child poverty outside London, with one in three children living in poverty. That is one in three children that live without central heating, go to bed without a hot meal or go to school without adequate school uniform. In 2013 we benefitted over 47,000 children. The service that XLOS runs in recycling used print cartridges is invaluable to us. It is such an easy way to make such a huge difference to the lives of many children in Greater Manchester.”

Mark Walker, Director of XLOS, added: “Our free collection service on printer consumables is something we strongly believe in, both from an environmental point of view whilst helping a local charity.

“Having worked closely with Key 103 for a number of years it seemed the right thing to do to support such a wonderful local children’s charity as ‘Cash for Kids’.”
