Paperworld Middle East 2014 report released

DubaiThe event, which included Remanexpo@Paperworld Middle East, saw the most exhibitors and visitors yet, with hundreds of countries represented.

The report outlines that since the show’s first event in 2011, the number of exhibitors has increased from 203 to 271, with these exhibitors from the 2014 show hailing from 37 different countries. 6,429 visitors also attended from 105 different nations from across the globe.

In terms of exhibitors, 36 percent came from east Asia; 31 percent from the rest of the world (which includes Europe, the Americas and the CIS region); 19 percent from South Asia; 11 percent from the United Arab Emirates (UAE); and one percent from the Gulf nations (excluding the UAE), the rest of the Middle East and Africa.

Visitor-wise, 62 percent came from the UAE; 11 percent from the Gulf nations (excluding the UAE); eight percent from South Asia; seven percent from the rest of the Middle East; six percent from Africa; four percent from the rest of the world (Europe, the Americas and the CIS); and two percent from East Asia. The top 10 nations represented in terms of visitors from outside the UAE were: Saudi Arabia; India; Iran; Kuwait; Oman; Jordan; Pakistan; Qatar; Egypt; and Bahrain.

The breakdown of visitor profiles was also given, with 21 percent wholesalers; 18 percent distributors; 14 percent importers or exporters; 12 percent retailers; 11 percent manufacturers; six percent trade agents; four percent service providers or other professions; three percent printing houses; and two percent educational institutes, media and press, and government.

In terms of products, 69 percent of products on display were office supplies, with Remanexpo@Paperworld Middle East’s remanufactured cartridges making up five percent. In turn, 22 percent of visitors were interested in office supplies, and six percent were interested in attending Remanexpo@Paperworld Middle East. Finally, 88 percent of exhibitors stated that they “certainly or possibly will participate at the exhibition in future”.
