The two US-based remanufacturers have joined forces.
LMI Solutions stated that the acquisition of Global Printer Services (GPS), a printer remanufacturer, “meets increased customer demand for quality, affordability and sustainability”, with the “strategic” acquisition allowing customers to “take complete control of their fleet profitability” with remanufactured printers and cartridges from the new company.
The cartridge remanufacturer added that the combined company “will streamline previous complexities associated with providing an environmentally responsible product”, with customers able to take advantage of the combined products including imaging dealers, distributors, IT VARs (value-added resellers) and MPS providers.
GPS, LMI notes, has “established itself as the preferred choice of thousands of customers” for its remanufactured printers, with its business “the cornerstone of success for profitable printer fleet management, MPS and service swap scenarios”.
Bruce Andre, Founder and President of GPS, commented: “LMI and GPS have operated as partners for years and we’re excited to expand the relationship with new MPS centric products and services. In looking at the printer marketplace, remanufactured printers are starting to follow the same evolution as remanufactured toner cartridges have for the past 20 years.
“As our customers continue to grow their remanufactured printer business, it is great to have a partner, such as LMI, who has gone through a similar progression. We now have the combined strength and infrastructure of LMI and GPS to support the products and services we know dealers and distributors are seeking. It’s a true win-win for both companies, our mutual customers and our employees.”
Gary Willert, President and CEO of LMI Solutions, stated: “We’re joining the key capabilities of both companies to answer market demand and provide further products and services to better partner in our customers’ success. Global Printer Services brings a new depth of expertise and a service-focused team that will work in concert with us to convert our mutual strengths into profitability and sustainability opportunities for customers of both companies.
“I look forward to working with Bruce and the rest of the GPS team to further expand our ability to help our customers expand their business models.”
LMI Solutions recently revealed that it had acquired the R2 recycling standard, whilst GPS previously reported in October last year that it had seen growth despite overall industry decline.
