Totalpost, which provides mailroom equipment as well as remanufactured franking cartridges, installed the “state-of-the-art” mailroom folder inserter for UK bank Lloyds Banking Group at its Gloucester mailroom processing branch, where a team of eight people “process outgoing mail and handle approximately 10,000 to 12,000 items of mail a day”.

With the role including “individual mailouts to customers” as opposed to bulk mailings, with mailouts including leaflets, information books and envelopes, the team uses similar equipment already, but Totalpost noted that the new machine, the Neopost DS-90, features “added” equipment including a large feeder tray for “a more efficient process”, with optional feeders available.

Richard Jarratt, AM Supervisor for Lloyds, stated: “The ability to process thick booklets via the new optional integrated feeder is of great value to us as we send out a lot of booklets and previous machines haven’t been able to handle them. The machine is flexible and handles varied items such as this with ease.

“As always the Totalpost team were very helpful and whole process from order through to installation and training has gone extremely well.”

David Hymers, Managing Director at Totalpost, added: “Our mailroom technicians pride themselves at being at the forefront of the technologies in their field. We were delighted to be able to provide Lloyds with a new folder inserter to help them process their outgoing mail in a more efficient manner.”

Totalpost recently supplied an x-ray screening device to another UK bank, Nationwide, last month.
