Remanufacturer explains benefits of staying local

lexreman3_640Owner of California-based InkGrabber discusses how he decided to keep the business in the US rather than overseas as the company expanded.

In an article featured on PR Leap, Keith Ramirez, Owner of InkGrabber – an online ink and toner cartridge retailer with multiple branches – explained how he felt it was his “moral responsibility as an American to fight to keep jobs here at home”; and so the company’s ink cartridges are remanufactured in California’s San Fernando Valley “for further growth and sustainable product quality”.

Further benefits of conducting the business in California, according to Ramirez, is the region’s “access to an abundance of materials” which allows the company to “employ contemporary methods for the best and most comprehensive testing results”, with InkGrabber’s manufacturing facility boasting “temperature controlled storage rooms, clean room stations to omit cross contamination, and innovative testing centres with nearly every printer model that has been released to the general public”.

Furthermore, when it comes to remanufacturing colour ink cartridges, California “receives a myriad of colour ink compositions, allowing the remanufacturing engineers to select the best ink formulas for their refilled ink cartridges”. Ramirez added: “Being able to test our products here in California has allowed us to regulate [the] quality [of their ink cartridges] quickly and efficiently.”

The recession also played a part in Ramirez’s decision to stay local, as creating job opportunities was “a way to help rebuild the state”, which had been “heavily hit”. InkGrabber’s remanufacturing plant employs around 100 people and has increased staff numbers by 150 percent.

Ramirez said: “The financial cost is higher to make a good American product, but our online reviews show that it’s the right choice.”
