The global franchise is set to have opened 15 new locations by the end of 2014.
Franchise-Magazine (in French) reported on Cartridge World’s expansion in France, which has seen nine stores open in the “first eight months of the year” as well as the approval of three new stores, with the franchise set to have opened 15 new stores in total by the end of the year.
There are already over 135 Cartridge World stores in France, with some of the nine new stores opened in Moulins (in February), Nevers (in April) and Rennes (in May), whilst two of the three stores set to be opened include those in Bergerac and Périgueux. 12 new store contracts were signed in 2013, which was an average of “one every month”, and this year over a third of franchisees had “two or more stores”, including those based in Rennes and Fougeres.
The multi-franchise sites accounted for 50 percent of the franchise’s sales network, with Cartridge World reporting that it had ended 2013 “on balance” in comparison to 2012, with a turnover increase of 3.4 percent to €24 million ($31.6 million). The franchise stated that this reflected the “performance and success of the group in a time of economic crisis”.
