The market saw a monthly growth of 7.5 percent.
The latest report from market analysts GfK showed a growth in November 2014 of 7.5 percent year-over-year to a market value of £1.5 billion ($/€), and a growth of 6.4 percent in value to £1.8 billion ($2.8 billion/€2.2 billion), which remains the same from last month. The Recycler previously reported on GfK’s figures for October 2014 and the year, with the sector growing by 6.9 percent to be worth £1.8 billion, with a 6.5 percent growth over the course of the year to be worth £1.3 billion ($2 billion/€1.6 billion).
The office sector, which includes toner and inkjet cartridges, also saw a monthly value of £200 million ($313 million/€251 million) last month, a 7.8 percent increase, whilst online sales grew by 48 percent versus last year’s result, and inkjet cartridges were said by GfK to have driven all of the aforementioned growth.
The IT market, which includes printers and MFDs, saw a year-over-year fall in value of 1.5 percent to £7.5 billion ($11.7 billion/€9.4 billion), with the results for the year so far showing a 1.6 percent fall in value to £5.5 billion ($8.6 billion/€6.9 billion), and the monthly change in value saw a fall of three percent to £700 million ($1.09 billion/€880 million). Online sales meanwhile saw 1.9 percent growth, and the market saw growth across the board in terms of products other than tablets, which declined by 28 percent and “dragged the entire market into slight decline despite a great month for all other areas”.
