Ink manufacturer announces release of set of three new colour dye-based inks to accompany already well known BKP 249 black pigment inks.
OCP has released new inks for HP62 cartridges, which are used in HP’s four new colour inkjet all-in-ones for home and home office users – the Envy 7640, 5650, 5660 and Officejet 5740; all of which allow users to print from mobile devices, supporting iOS, Android, ChromeOS, Windows 8 and Kindle Fire HXD. They also feature Wi-Fi wireless connectivity and remote printing.
The Envy 7640 prints at speeds of 14ppm in black and nine ppm in colour, with a 125-page input tray and a 25-page output tray. The 5660 meanwhile features many of the same offerings, but lacks the automatic document feeder on the top of the unit; while the 5640 prints at slower speeds, with a maximum of 12ppm.
The Officejet 5740 e-All-in-One can print at speeds of 12ppm in black and eight ppm in colour, and has a 25-page automatic document feeder. However, it lacks the larger touchscreen seen on the Envy 7640. Print resolutions are up to 1200 by 1200 dpi in black when printing from a computer, and up to 4800 by 1200 dpi in colour when printing from a computer on selected HP photo papers.
All of the printers are equipped with two cartridges – pigment black and dye-based tri-colour cartridge with an integrated print head, with the new HP 62 cartridges also available in an XL version. In terms of page yield, the standard HP 62 cartridges can print 200 pages in black and 165 in tri-colour, while the XL versions can print 600 in black and 415 in tri-colour.
OCP stated that its R&D department has released a set of three new colour dye-based inks besides the already well known BKP 249 black pigment inks “to guarantee OEM-like printing results”. These include the C 149 cyan dye-based ink, the M 149 magenta dye-based ink, and the Y 149 yellow dye-based ink; all of which are for use in both standard and XL corresponding HP 62 cartridges.
