IT-Online reported on the launch of the range, which was also released in the UK market last year, and stated that the devices are “printers for the mobile generation”, with “reliable and fast printing” alongside “legendary HP quality”. The machines’ “innovative technology” allows for wireless and mobile printing, with the machines said to be “perfect […] for mobile workers”.
The entry-level machine, the M201n, is network-enabled with Ethernet connectivity, a USB port and HP ePrint connectivity, while Apple AirPrint compatibility “allows for direct printing” from iPhones, iPads and iPod Touches “with no setup or applications required”. The next machine, the M201dw, has these features as well as “wireless and wireless direct printing”, meaning it doesn’t require a network connection, and also features automatic duplexing, as well as HP Auto, which “simplifies setup and time to print by automatically connecting to your wireless network”.
Both machines additionally feature an LCD control panel, print speeds of up to 25ppm, security features and a “full capacity” 1,500 page toner cartridge, alongside energy-saving features and “free cartridge recycling” from the OEM. The series of printers are now available “immediately” in the South African market from “resellers and specialist retailers”.
