The OEM released the Phaser 6022 single-function and WorkCentre 6027 MFP for wireless working.

The two printers have been released to “address user needs”, according to Xerox, with a recent IDC study said to find “only half of mobile users are able to print within their own company walls”, and “just one-third can print on the go”, with the Phaser 6022 and WorkCentre 6027 MFP – both of which are colour machines – enabling workers to “print emails, photos and office documents from their desktop, laptop or mobile device”, as well as being “easy to setup”.

The machines’ mobile capabilities include “built-in security” and wireless networking, alongside the ability to use Wi-Fi Direct, Apple AirPrint and Google Cloud Print “without the need to download and install apps or print drivers”. Other features of the machines are “simplified wireless setup” and a paper setup navigator, said to take “the guesswork out of using custom paper sizes and stocks for printing envelopes, cardstock, labels and recycled paper easily”.

The two devices also features 1,200 x 2,400dpi print resolution, print speeds of 18ppm in monochrome and colour, a paper capacity of up to 150 sheets, a 15-sheet automatic document feeder (on the WorkCentre 6027) and a “large, intuitive colour touchscreen” (again on the WorkCentre 6027).

Both the Phaser 6022 single-function and WorkCentre 6027 MFP are available worldwide now, with estimated retail prices of $279 (€243) and $429 (€375) respectively.
