We bought a new piece of technology last week from Amazon: it was the new HP OfficeJet 150 mobile printer. We wanted to get a second printer because we travel a lot, and the bigger printers don’t travel so
well. On our travels we do need to print out documents from time to time, and decided to invest in a small mobile printer.
First impression is that it is good. It prints well, and has a built in scanner etcetera, so is very versatile. But I think the most impressive feature we have seen is the connectivity and battery life. We took it out in the car, and while driving we printed out some web pages and emails from our mobile phones, and it handled it all well. We bought several sets of cartridges, and will keep you updated on their refillability, like we are for the HP X.
I told Eric (name changed), my friend at HP, that we bought the printer, and his reaction was “why us – there are other OEM printers you could pick on” (I think he meant buy). By the way, I am a fan of the HP X printer, and in Dubai I saw an exhibitor at Remanexpo@Paperworld with a CIS system for the printer, and it looked pretty effective.
We will be publishing a full review of the printer and consumables later in the year. Do you have a favourite printer? Let us know, and we can feature it in a future issue. Just email me at d.connett@therecycler.com
Best not tell you about the camera I dropped and broke in Frankfurt, or the hearing aid I dropped in the bath. Hopefully the insurance will pay…
