The new mono machines include a single-function and MFP alongside a new MFP series consisting of three devices.
The single-function and MFP devices, the SP 4520DN and MP 401SPF, feature print speeds of 42ppm, Ricoh’s LED printing technology, and 1,200 x 1,200dpi resolution, alongside mobile printing support and an “aggressively low cost-per-page”. Both also feature a 4.30inch colour touchscreen and support standard and legal-size paper up to thicknesses of 90lb and 43lb, alongside automatic duplexing.
The mobile printing support includes compatibility with Ricoh’s Smart Device Print&Scan app, connections to Ricoh’s Integrated Cloud Environment service, and DocumentMall, Evernote, Dropbox and Google Drive. Additionally, both feature ENERGY STAR 2.0 compliance and the DataOverwriteSecurity System (DOSS), which “helps to protect important information” by destroying “latent data stored on the hard disk drive”.
Both printers are also “easy to manage” using Ricoh’s Device Manager NX Lite for MPS, and are exclusively available through dealer and direct channels, with the recommended retail prices $3,310 (€3,144) for the MP 401SPF MFP and $1,025 (€973) for the SP 4520DN. The second release meanwhile sees a new MFP range of three monochrome devices aimed at small offices and workgroups, consisting of the MP4054, 5054 and 6054 machines.
The printers print at 40, 50 and 60ppm respectively, with resolutions of 1,200dpi, a standard 220-sheet capacity and scanning speeds of 180 colour or mono images per minute. They also use Ricoh’s Smart Device Connector app for iOS and Android to allow workers to print, copy, scan or fax from mobile devices through NFC (near-field communication). A 10.1-inch “tablet-like” touchscreen also features the ability to connect to a web browser, as well as Ricoh’s Integrated Cloud Environment (ICE).
The MP 4054 and 5054 are replacements for the MP 4002 and 5002 series, while the MP 6054 is a new machine, and all three are available at recommended retail prices of $12,250 (€11,637), $14,725 (€13,989) and $18,925 (€17,979) respectively.
Matt Sakauchi, Vice President of Ricoh Americas’ Product Marketing, stated: “These new devices are specifically designed to support Ricoh’s dealers as they help customers achieve higher information mobility. Our dealers have specifically requested enhanced capabilities in the important 40ppm segment of the A4 market to help their customers succeed in this new world of work. These devices answer the call.
“MFPs are an integral part of the enterprise, and these devices are in the forefront. These MFPs are designed to help organisations achieve new levels of information mobility by placing important business information in the right workers’ hands at the right time while accommodating their evolving workstyles.”
