IMG_3741-300x225Bedford-based Cartridge Depot is celebrating its first three years in business having collected 11,000 cartridges.

Bedfordshire on Sunday reported on Cartridge Depot’s success, with the business encouraging people from the local area to bring in as many empty cartridges as possible, and offering to arrange large-scale collections of equipment.

Director Guy Ciampa said: “This is a great achievement for us working together with the local community.”

Ciampa worked previously as a refiller for Cartridge World, and has been in the industry for 11 years. He told The Recycler that he had considered taking the business online, but the market is difficult to penetrate:

“You have got to spend so much to get anywhere [online] and then the margins are so small. There are two separate markets: the online market, for people who want a good price, or a shop like us, if you want a good service.”

He currently works alongside his wife running the business, although they would like to grow their team. In their first three months of trading, they received 200 empty cartridges.
