The Recycler received letters sent out to exhibitors falsely requesting details for an event in Asia.
The letters are once again being sent by Mexico-based company Expo-Guide to those who have exhibited at industry events, asking them to validate and update their company details in a bid to scam them out of thousands of pounds.
Signed by the “Chief Editor”, the letter states that “the update of your already existing entry in the exhibitor directory is essential to guarantee problem-free communication with all visitors seeking contact with your company and ensure that only accurate data is published”.
The company has been operating for many years and regularly targets thousands of companies worldwide. The Recycler has reported on the scam for the past few years, in 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 and twice in 2014, once for the Dubai show and once for the Germany show.
