OKI’s MC873dn
The printer is a “smart, compact, wide-format” colour laser machine available in three configurations.
The new machine is the MC873dn, which is the desktop configuration – the other two are the MC873dnc and dnx, which are floor-standing models. The colour MFP is aimed at small to medium-sized workgroups, offering a small footprint and “unique value proposition” of being able to print on media up to A3 size, which the OEM says is “idea for customers seeking the flexibility to print wide-format and an affordable alternative to larger, more expensive devices”.
Among the machine’s features are speeds of 35ppm in colour and monochrome; first print in 9.5 seconds; a seven-inch colour touchscreen; duplex printing; finishing options; a 100-sheet automatid document feeder capable of scanning on both sides; and secure print encryption. The MC873 is also part of the OEM’s COREFIDO warranty and recycling programme, which allows users to “upgrade” from a one-year to five-year warranty for free and send used cartridges and drums back for recycling.
