PeopleNet provides fleet mobility technology for North America’s transportation industry that enables greater levels of safety, compliance, cost reduction and customer service. Its platform combines network communications, mobility and analytics to create the next-generation standard in technology-driven fleet performance and decision-making management.
Brother’s Mobile Solutions President, David Crist, said: “The use of technology in the transportation industry is on the rise and onboard mobility solutions are in high-demand. We have seen a growing interest in on-board printing from all types of transportation companies – from heavy equipment hauling to crude and petroleum products transporters.
“Decision makers and drivers alike have come to understand that having real time information in the truck plus the technology to print without interruption in the route can improve operational efficiencies.”
Jason DeShaw, Tailored Solutions Consulting Manager at PeopleNet, said the group chose to partner with Brother because its mobile printers are “rugged, easy for drivers to use and have the connectivity options we need”.
He continued: “Our customers demand mobile solutions that optimise the delivery process, and the variety of full-page and small-format mobile printers from Brother gives us more options to help fleets be more efficient.”
Brother signed a mobile printing deal with Panasonic in March 2015, under which Brother’s PJ600 thermal mobile printers would become available as an in-vehicle device for the emergency services. Also announced in March 2015 was Brother’s acquisition of British group Domino Printing Sciences, for $1.55 billion (€1.44 billion).
