The software company has integrated its FMAudit MPS software with the PrintReleaf Exchange (PRX).PrintReleaf_538x218

ECi announced the partnership with PrintReleaf, who created the PRX, which is a technology platform that “measures a customer’s forest consumption, and connects them directly to reforestation projects”. Dealers using the FMAudit software can “connect their end user customers’ printer environments to a network of global reforestation projects” in order to “help them reduce their environmental impact”.

MPS provider and remanufacturer West Point Products recently also partnered with PrintReleaf, and FMAudit’s integration with the exchange allows for “consumption figures measured by FMAudit” to be “automatically convert[ed]” to the number of trees consumed”. This figure is sent to the reforestation project “of the customer’s choice” and that many trees will be planted, with one tree equalling around 8,333 sheets of paper.

ECi stated that the application programming interface (API) connection for PrintReleaf is now available in the Central v3.6 version of FMAudit, while real-time dashboard information “is also now available”. It added that the World Resources Institute has reported nearly 13 million hectares lf forest have been lost – an area “roughly the size of England” – every year between 2000 and 2010.

Kevin Tetu, President of FMAudit, commented: “The integration of the FMAudit and PrintReleaf products is very exciting for us. By offering this type of programme, we are working with some of the industry’s most advanced and innovative organisations that want to offer dealers and their customers the opportunity to offset costs associated with printing, by becoming actively involved in an initiative that reaches beyond the scope of our industry. It is a global initiative and is important to our environment.”

Jordan Darragh, CEO and Founder of PrintReleaf, added: “This strategic partnership allows us to leverage the world-class technology that FMAudit brings to the MPS industry, providing customers with an innovative and authentic way to promote sustainable business practices and reduce the environmental impacts that can result from the use of forest products, such as printing.

“Together with FMAudit, we are providing an automated solution that supports corporate social responsibility initiatives, provides a competitive differentiator and enables reforestation across the globe.”
