The devices were previously launched in the USA in May earlier this year, and Indian Express reported on the Indian launch of the three A3 machines and one A4 printer, which all feature “higher quality output, low maintenance costs and enhanced media handling” of up to 300gsm thickness. The printers are said to feature “vivid and vibrant colours”, and are targeted at the “commercial sector, especially copy shops and small and medium enterprises who can use these machines to print in colour and also [monochrome]”.

The machines feature the ‘Mailbox Sample’ hard disc, which will allow users to “store templates [and] frequently used documents [or] projects for printing” of up to 6,000 pages in length. Each features mobile printing compatibility with Canon and other apps on Android or iOS devices, while secure printing allows for document security. The A3 printers feature a tiltable screen and video tutorials on “how to change toner and remove waste”, alongside automatic paper size recognition.

Canon India stated that the MFPs “will help small entrepreneurs transition to colours easily”, with a “market-oriented approach” taken to the printers’ construction. The OEM’s Vice President of its Indian Business Imaging Solutions Division, K. Bhaskhar, stated that “in India, we currently have a market share of 26.8 percent in [the] A3 colour segment, and this new range of colour MFDs are well-equipped to meet the expectations of the ever-evolving SME sector”.

Canon India’s President and CEO, Kazutada Kobayashi, added: “Innovation has always been a driving force at Canon, and our new series of colour MFDs reflect our commitment towards offering world-class technology, ease of use and high quality to meet customer expectations. India is a land of rising entrepreneurs, and we would like to play an active role in increasing the opportunities for them in the colour printing domain.”
