Jul 30, 2015

XPSThe company has “decided to focus solely” on its OEM business, and Pelikan Hardcopy will take over its remanufactured toner cartridge business.

XPS has announced that Pelikan Hardcopy will take over its “remanufactured toner cartridge business”, with all “commercial activities” relating to it being taken over by the latter from 1 October this year. XPS added that it has “decided to focus solely on its OEM business”. Until 30 September, customers “may order from XPS as usual”, but after that date “their orders will be processed by Pelikan Hardcopy”.

To “maintain continuity regarding customer knowledge and product know-how”, and “ensure a smooth transition”, XPS’ Gino Blanco, who works on the sales team, will be working for Pelikan. XPS was founded 21 years ago, with its toner cartridge remanufacturing business created “in the early days of remanufacturing”, and the company stated that it has “played an important role in setting the quality standard in the market and developing innovative techniques for high quality colour cartridge remanufacturing”.

Janneke van der Steen, Managing Director of XPS, commented: “XPS was looking for a trustworthy party in the market to which we could hand over our loyal customers of the remanufactured toner cartridge business. In Pelikan we have found a reliable and established name that will provide the attention and quality to which our customers are accustomed and deserve.

“By shedding the commercial activities of the remanufactured toner cartridge business, XPS will now be able to focus on its other line of business.”

Berrie Matse, Vice President of Pelikan Hardcopy Production AG, noted he was “delighted” with the deal, adding: “The transfer of remanufactured toner activities from XPS to us opens up new options for current XPS customers and will further boost sales. With our wide range of products and services, Pelikan Hardcopy is an attractive supplier for XPS customers.”
