The imagePROGRAF printers were previously launched in the USA.
Trade Arabia reported on the launch of the imagePROGRAF F830, 840 and 850, which were all recently released in the US market. The machines are “designed to deliver [an] affordable option for technical industry professionals”, are “high-volume” and measure 44-inches wide, with MFP models also available, and all three are “designed to bring reliable, affordable and precise printing” to a range of wide-format industries.
Aimed at “medium to large workgroups”, the imagePROGRAF iPF850, 840 and 830 are all five-colour machines with 15,360 nozzles, a two media roll system (for the 850 and 840) and 320GB hard drives. All three also offer a “high chroma” magenta ink, print speeds of up to 42 seconds, high capacity 700ml ink tanks and “user-friendly” software.
The iPF850 features a high-capacity stacker for paper sizes up to A0, which gathers “newly-printed documents to help prevent paper curling”, while the previously-mentioned two-roll system for the 850 and 840 is said to “allow for continuous, uninterrupted high-production printing”. The ink tanks used in the three printers can be replaced “during print jobs without pausing production”, with the MFP M40 variants of the machines allowing for scanning documents up to two millimetres in thickness.
In terms of software, PosterArtist Lite, Direct Print & Share and the imagePROGRAF Print Utility app allow users to access cloud software and print from mobile devices, with Canon adding that the architecture, engineering and construction (AEC) and Computer Aided Design (CAD) markets are the targets for the three printers.
Hendrik Verbrugghe, Canon Middle East’s Marketing Director, commented: “The printing of detailed drawings and plans represents a necessary part of everyday workflow for CAD users and in architecture, engineering and construction environments in particular. High-volume, continuous printing is a fundamental tool for these businesses and needs a powerful and dependable large format printer. The new imagePROGRAF models deliver speed, accuracy and colour vibrancy, making them ideal for both print-for-pay and print-for-use environments.”
