The manufacturer published a guide on how to reset certain cartridge chips.
The video, which you can also view below, is titled Way to reset MS310 series chip, and features the company’s i-PROG chip resetter device. The video introduces the machine and then discusses the chips in the range, which include those used in the Sindoricoh A603 and Lexmark MS310 series of cartridges, before discussing how to use the company’s number 25 jig to reset the chip.
It moves on to show the user how to use the jig on the chip, by applying its contacts to those on the back of the chip, before pressing a search button on the i-PROG. This shows the chip’s status as used, and following this the user should then apply the jig to the back of the chip and press the play or reset button on the machine, which will then reset the chip and display it as new on the screen.
Before the video ends, TNCore warns that “if a chip is printed out 100 percent, and there [are] no remaining pages at all, [the] chip will be locked”, and the chip “cannot be reset”. It then shows the screen displaying where on the i-PROG the message saying if the chip is locked would be displayed. This allows the user to see if the chip is locked when undertaking the search aspect of the reset, and before trying to reset the chip.
The company concludes the video by stating that “since aftermarket chips are vulnerable to firmware and have ID issue[s], we only guarantee [this will work] for original chip reset[s]”.
