Some of you might know that I am not technically gifted when it comes to the dark arts of ink refilling. On more than one occasion, the then-Mrs. C would get upset with ink on the walls, ink on the carpet, ink on the dining table, and ink in the dishwasher. I am not sure if it is a syringe fetish, but give me a syringe full of ink and I just squeeze…
Then came along Dirk Hünselar, the self-taught technical whizz who managed to understand what the OCP chemists and scientists do and interpret and translate that into trade speak, so we could all understand ink. A sort of “Dummies’ guide to ink refilling”, but without realising you are a dummy! He educated me about ink and even persuaded me to buy an inkjet printer, so you know he is good.
In his spare time Dirk is into “geocaching” – suffice to say you need to Google it, but Rod Lovie of OCP South Africa can tell you one or two very hair-raising stories about going “geocaching” with Dirk in South Africa.
But after 11 (is it really that long) years with OCP, the opportunity of a lifetime has come for Dirk to buy into a business that is growing, and this just is too good an opportunity to miss. So Dirk is leaving the industry to take up this new challenge, and we wish him well and every success for the future.
