The device can print at 150ppm and is aimed at improving daily activities for “institutions and businesses”.
It has been introduced to Ghana by the Intercom Programming and Manufacturing Company (IPMC), who intend it to address power issues that hamper productivity in an office environment, Graphic Online reported. Amar Deep S. Hari, CEO of IPMC, said it serves for multiple purposes, including folding, stapling, binding and envelope wrapping.
He commented: “The product is intended to be eco-friendly, taking into consideration conditions in Africa, particularly Ghana, which is facing an energy crisis, to enable users to enjoy it.” He also said that with the introduction of RISO printers such as the ComColor series and the EZ201, EZ571, CV3030 AND Risolar KZ30 had shown IMPC’s ability to provide specific solutions to the Ghanaian market.
The executive said that Ghana remains a sensitive market in Africa and needed specialist solutions to “meet the demands of organisations to enhance their productivity and meet deadlines”. Jason Rose, Export Manager of RISO Africa, said the ComColor was the world’s fastest inkjet printer, as it can print up to 150 copies a minute.
He further said that most African countries, such as South Africa, have improved teaching and learning with the solar-powered devices, helping over 3500 schools which had no electricity.
