The UK franchise supported Small Business Advice Week (SBAW).
Cartridge World UK reported on its support of SBAW, which took place from 31 August to 6 September and “highlights the importance of Britain’s 4.5 million small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs)”, with the aim of helping them “flourish” through “advice from leading experts and businesses across the UK”. During the week, the franchises’ stores were offering “free independent advice on everything to do with printers and printing”.
This year’s week was the 11th such week, and Cartridge World UK’s General Manager Gavin Askew discussed what the franchise had been doing to help SMEs. He noted that the event “is perfectly timed for us, because September and October is the time of year when businesses are most likely to buy a new printer”. He offered advice including “don’t be seduced” by low cost printers, and “getting some sound, independent advice before buying”.
In turn, Askew, added that “for businesses, choosing the right printer to meet your needs should be your most important consideration – ahead of price”, with research showing that 90 percent of UK businesses have “no idea how much they actually spend on office printing”. He also reflected on whether businesses are better off with inkjets, lasers of MFPs, adding that “replacing cartridge, drums and buying paper can add up to ten times more than the original cost of the printer.
“So making sure you’ve got the right one and considering a print management package covering cartridges, maintenance and consumables, which can save a business up to 30 percent in print costs, are all things you need to check before you buy”.
