ECi announced the limited availability release of the Java version of the FMAudit Onsite software, offering dealers the a new way to install the programme when a Windows PC is not available.
Creating a Java version of the Onsite data collector, now installable on Linux systems, was a strategic future initiative that the FMAudit team established in collaboration with a number of major manufacturers over the last year, “allowing it to be installed on additional operating systems or even directly onto an MFP”.
This in turn avoids the need “to deploy onto a customer’s application server”.
Kevin Tetu, ECi FMAudit President, said: “While having originally developed FMAudit Onsite on the Microsoft .NET Framework specific to Windows, we knew that extending our operating system support was instrumental to ensure continued compatibility and flexibility.
“It not only provides our dealers with more options for deployment today, but it opens the door to many more possible areas of interest and growth opportunity in the future.”
