Mobile employees and BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) users and partners now have a simplified way to print “from any device, anytime and anywhere” without installing devices or Airprint or Google Cloud Print.
BYOD users, be they partners or guests, no longer need authorisation and device installation but can simply print with the technology’s email-to-print function whether they are on- or off-network, by entering the dedicated email address at the device, after which jobs sent to it will print automatically, Benzinga reported.
PrinterLogic also promises to reduce the number of print-related calls IT service desks receive, while providing the IT benefits of built-in security, quota options for how much guests can print, what file types and whether or not solely in black-and-white. The software additionally works with “any printer” and can be used to specify a device where a job is to be sent.
Android and Chromebook are compatible with the innovation, while the Linux Client allows “seamless printing for thick and thin client endpoint devices” without needing “costly” mapping and management tools.
SNMP-based alerts are also featured, so IT can fix issues before they receive complaints, while the Pull Printing feature securely stores a user’s print job until they release it.
Jarrett Taylor, Founder and CTO of PrinterLogic, commented: “Employees need a way of easily and securely printing from whichever office they happen to be working from, from any device, without the headaches of installing new printers each time.
“Similarly, enterprises need a way to enable contractors, partners and guests to easily print – while retaining the ability to control what and how they print.”
