Printing inks association appoints Executive Director

NAPIMThe National Association of Printing Inks Manufacturers (NAPIM) has appointed John Copeland as its Executive Director.

Copeland has been a NAPIM Board member for eight years, currently acting as Board President for 2014 to 2015, MyPRINTresource.com reported. He has worked for more than 35 years in the ink industry, for Flint Ink Corporation and Sicpa Ink Systems among others, and most recently as President and COO of Toyo Ink America.

The Executive Director role involves managing all the Association’s activities subject to the Executive Committee and Board of Directors policies. Copeland will take up the role on 1 November 2015, with current Director Brad Bergey retaining the role until the end of the year to aid the transition.

NAPIM President Pat Carlisle recently said in an interview that there is a growing need for products that “lessen the environmental impact and increase consumer safety”. The Association includes as members Sun Chemical, Flint Group and Toyo Ink America.

Pat Carlisle, President of NAPIM, commented: “We are excited about starting this next chapter at NAPIM with John at the helm. Brad Bergey has been a great leader for NAPIM, and he will be missed.”
