“This tape will self destruct in 10 seconds…”

Tape is not around much nowadays, but Xerox has developed a self-destructing chip that will destroy itself in 10 seconds once it receives the self-destruct command. Imagine if self-destructing chips were fitted to cartridges, creating another barrier for remanufacturing? And in a separate story, Xerox have signed a deal to produce 1.3 billion printed memory chips for their cartridges.
