A writer for mobile and tech publication BGR has urged readers to “stop spending hundreds on printer ink” as cheaper third-party alternatives are “just as good”.
Maren Estrada explained her experience buying a replacement cartridge for an Epson Artisan printer that she had previously only ever replaced with branded cartridges.
She was “fed up” with the $72 (€63) OEM replacements and decided to look at “no-name ink cartridges”, and bought a set of six cartridges for $6.49 (€5.74), with free Amazon Prime shipping. Despite being “sceptical” when the new inks arrived two days later, she found that “it looks exactly the same as brand name ink”, with clear colour and no smudging.
She closed by advising readers that “next time your printer runs out of ink, give no-name ink a try”. Estrada was sold the cartridges by a group called Ink_Cartridge_Supply, who have a store on Amazon.
