Recent research found that 45 percent of retailers say customer mood is a little better, while 18 percent say it is much better.
The figure for respondents saying ‘much better’ increased five percent compared with last quarter, while the ‘little better’ figure increased three percent, Retail Week research found. A further 30 percent felt customer mood was the same, while seven percent said it was much worse.
In response to the question ‘do you feel more confident in the state of the economy than this time last year?’, 20 percent said they were significantly more confident, up four percent on the 2Q2015 figure, while 45 percent said they were slightly more confident, decreasing 16 percent. 19 percent said they felt the same, an increase of four percent, and 16 percent were significantly less confident, up six percent.
The magazine also asked about whether sales via mobile had increased in the last quarter, to which 40 percent said they had seen a big increase of over 20 percent, showing a 19 percent increase on the 2Q2015 figure. 18 percent experienced some growth, but less than 10 percent, 32 percent have seen no development, and 10 percent have seen a decrease.
