The US franchise was awarded by Entrepreneur Magazine for the second year in a row.
The award, which was given to the franchise in November 2014 as well, “recognises [Cartridge World’s] efforts to support veterans”, with the company now winning the award for “two out of the last three years that the reward has been given”. Veterans as both “business partners and customers” saw the franchise named at number 62 in its list of ‘America’s Top Franchises for Veterans’.
Among the reasons for Cartridge World winning recognition was that it offers “numerous benefits for current and retired members of the military”, such as a 15 percent franchise fee discount and a 10 percent discount on products. The franchise’s award comes as the US looks to change the GI Bill to “provide start-up money for veterans looking to invest in a business”.
Roger Madore, whose store in St. Augustine, Florida was profiled in September, is a 24-year Air Force veteran who has “taken the leap into business ownership with Cartridge World”. Madore noted that he had “always known that he would follow in his family’s footsteps and become a business owner”, especially with a background in printing and a “solid business model”, which made him realise “Cartridge World was the right fit for him to be successful”.
He added: “Simply put, investing in Cartridge World made a lot of sense to me. Not only does it give me the chance to sell printing products that every business needs, but it also offers an incredible opportunity to grow and succeed within the St. Augustine community.”
Steve Weedon, new Global and North America CEO for Cartridge World, commented: “Cartridge World has always been supportive of veterans entering or re-entering the business world, and we’re honoured to be recognised for our efforts to make this process easier for them. Whether it’s providing a product discount to veterans who are customers or attracting more veterans to join our franchise system, our support for those who have served continues to grow.”
