The M402 series, previously launched in the US, were showcased at the GITEX event in Dubai.

Computer News Middle East reported on the “printer bonanza” launched by HP at the GITEX show, which consisted of the LaserJet Pro M402 series, previously revealed in September.

The four new machines are part of the LaserJet 400 series of printers and MFPs, and offer the “fastest real world print speeds” in their class according to HP. The printers are aimed at SMBs looking for “speed and efficiency”, and include the LaserJet Pro M402, the Colour LaserJet Pro M452, the LaserJet Pro MFP M426 and the Colour LaserJet Pro MFP M477. The toner cartridges used utilise the OEM’s JetIntelligence toner, which it claims offers “precision black toner” and “higher page yields per cartridge”.

The monochrome LaserJet Pro M402 is described as “great for compact work spaces”, as it is the “smallest and most energy efficient printer in its class”; while the Colour LaserJet Pro M452 offers “best-in-class colour printing” with a 48 percent faster first page print time. The LaserJet Pro MFP M426 offers dual-sided scanning and “100 percent faster two-sided printing” than its predecessor; while the Colour LaserJet Pro MFP M477 offers “150 percent faster two-sided printing and 46 percent faster first page out” than its predecessor.

Pawel Miskiewicz, HP Middle East’s Print H/W Category Manager, commented: “This GITEX is very important for us, especially for the printing business, because we have never brought to market so many new products as we did this year. The HP JetIntelligence is the biggest innovation in the print industry since the laser jet technology. In spring 2015, we added this technology to our colour laser printers, and this year’s GITEX we have extended it to our monochrome printers which also sport precision black toner, leading to more yields per cartridge.

“Some of these devices consume 40 percent less power and are much smaller in form factor. What we have done is to take the technology from HP notebooks and extend it to printers to make it more secure with new feature such as HP Sure Start, Secure White Listing and Run-Time Intrusion Detection. All these devices come pre-installed with toners, which supports anti-fraud technology and anti-virus like capabilities so that hackers can’t use printers to gain access to corporate networks.”
