The OEM has unveiled five new devices aimed at SMEs, as well as a collaboration-focused version of the Dell Document Hub software.
The new Colour Cloud H825cdw and H625cdw, and the Mono Cloud H815dw MFPs, feature the software, which enables document scanning directly to seven major cloud services, including Dropbox, Box, Google Drive and Salesforce, V3 reported.
A partner app for PC and mobile allows users to download, edit and print these documents, with all seven able to be searched at once using a single sign-on.
Also released were the Mono Smart S2815dn and Colour Smart S2825cdn MFPs, devices aimed at SMEs and coming without cloud functionality, due to security issues previous enterprise customers had. Users can still print via Microsoft’s SharePoint on Premise service and print from and scan to on-site servers at no extra cost.
The three colour printers – the H825cdw, H625cdw and the S2825cdn – also use Dell’s new third-generation toner, which is made up of more densely-packed particles and contained in cylindrical cartridges, that slide into a colour-coded slot on the front of the printer.
The H825cdw and H625cdw include a single-pass duplexing automatic document feeder for double-sided scanning, as well as NFC (near-field communication) compatibility. Both devices are equipped with an “intelligent” scanner that can remember the settings of up to eight previous tasks, and offer previous settings when it detects paper being inserted into the scanning tray.
New innovations have been added to improve ease of maintenance, with pressure on the paper rollers being released when the access panel is removed, making it easier to pull out stuck sheets. Dell also claimed the new toner design will allow the particles to fuse at much lower temperatures, consuming less energy.
The UK launch for the devices is set for 29 October for the H825cdw, H2625cdw and S2825cdn, priced £309 ($477/€420), £259 ($399/€352) and £289 ($446/€393) respectively, while the H815dw and S815dn, priced £259 ($399/€352) and £229 ($353/€311) respectively, will launch on 17 December.
