Peter Stokes has become Managing Director of Shrewsbury-based printer repair specialists NCM (Networked Computer Maintenance).
Stokes was previously General Manager for the group, and is now responsible for managing and developing its client base and European markets, Shropshire Live reported.
The company is “one of the biggest recyclers of printers in the UK” according to Stokes, and maintains and repairs computers, office printers and MFPs, as well as handheld printers for “household names” such as the supermarket Waitrose and Royal Mail. It has a team of 80 service engineers across the UK, along with a call centre in Shrewsbury.
NCM’s parent company also has outfits in Australia, New Zealand, India, Japan, Hong Kong and Europe. Stokes was previously Operations Manager for Micro Plus Computers before joining the group.
He commented: “We’re looking forward to developing new markets and to introducing new ideas to companies which have traditionally entered into a ‘pay-per-click’ agreement for their copiers and multifunction devices, to show how they can save money by retaining their assets and entering into a maintenance agreement rather than leasing a new printer every three years – which is typical in the industry.”
Stokes added: “We know that many perfectly good printers end up in landfill. Our business model shows companies that there is another way, which, in these days of corporate social responsibility and environmental awareness, can help businesses lower their carbon footprint.”
