As we went to press, HP Inc. is just a matter of days from hitting the ground, and will start running big time to carve their niche in a mature market. Don’t expect a big change on day one, but according to documents seen by The Recycler, do expect ink to start taking a bigger share of their sales and to generate growth, margin and profits.hplogonew

I would expect them to start targeting their larger customers with older PCs and Canon-based and HP-badged laser printers with all sorts of offerings to get the ink flowing, and the HP ink strategy moving. Laser will still be in the portfolio, but don’t expect it to be as dominant two or three years down the road.

Next on HP Inc’s to-do list will be building a cloud platform and then acquiring a mobile offering, which, like Dell, will be essential to growing the company.

For remanufacturers, the way forward is still to follow the printers, but expect print pages to increase with brands with the best connectivity.
