Static Control releases first polyester chemical toner

Oct 27, 2015

SCC PolySphereLogoThe largest manufacturer of aftermarket imaging systems and components has unveiled its first set of PolySphere Toner, a line of exclusive polyester chemically-produced toners that offer OEM-quality performance.

The new toner, which Static Control says it is “first to market” with, is qualified for cartridges used in the Dell 5130 and related printers, with additional “formulations and cartridge qualifications to come” for Xerox and Lexmark machines. The polyester toner has a lower melting point than traditional toners, allowing lower fuser temperatures, helping devices become more energy-efficient.

It is also “more chemically compatible with colour pigments than styrene and acrylic toners”, making prints more vibrant and authentic, and the toner has a smaller particle, “a key factor in efficient toners” allowing PolySphere toners to “easily meet page yield, and exhibit optimum transfer efficiency”.

Erwin Pijpers, Senior Vice President of Sales, stated: “PolySphere toners have such a strong performance largely thanks to the proprietary surface treatment we use. The charging, flow and durability of each particle is affected by the surface treatment.”
