Irish cartridge reseller Madinks will donate 10 percent of its inkjet cartridge sales to the end of this year to help world sprinting champion Jason Smyth.
The company is also offering a 10 percent discount on all of its products when customers quote ‘Jason 2016’ at the checkout screen, Inside the Games reported.
Three-times world champion Smyth is hoping to defend his 100 metres sprint title at the September 2016 Paralympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He won the 100 and 200 metres T13 sprint at both Beijing 2008 and London 2012, and following his re-classification to the T12 category ahead of last year’s European championships, he won double gold again.
The T12 division is for athletes with stronger impairments, and Smyth was re-classified after a supposed progression of his visual impairment, Stargardt’s disease.
The Irishman was recently crowned the world’s fastest Paralympian after winning a cross-classification 100 metres race, which marked one year to go until Rio 2016, with a time of 10.73 seconds.
