UK and US government collaborate on cyber security

Cyber AttackThe two countries have been sharing information on the latest threats to the public and private sectors, particularly in finance, as well as looking at each other’s response methods and how to orchestrate “a coordinated response and public communications”.

UK participants in the 12 November exercise included HM Treasury, the Bank of England and the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), who were joined by the White House National Security Council, the Department of Homeland Security and the US Secret Service, Lexology reported.

The meeting was also intended for “exchanging best practices domestically and between the US and UK on a government-to-government and government-to-financial sector basis”.
