The South District of New York has issued a permanent injunction prohibiting Shenzhen ASTA from manufacture or sale of the infringing toner cartridges and photosensitive drum units.
The District Court’s injunction covers “making, using, selling and offering for sale in the US, and from importing into the US, the units that were sold for use in Canon and HP laser printers.
Canon filed the suit against Shenzhen ASTA on 7 May 2014 for infringement of the manufacturer’s US patents 8,280,278, 8,433,219, 8,437,669, 8,494,411, 8,630,564, 8,676,090, 8,682,215, and 8,688,008, with the court entering default judgment and issuing a permanent injunction on 6 November.
