The OEM has launched the Pro 9542 in the Australian market.
CSO reported on the new device, which features the OEM’s digital LED printing technology and which is said to “kick off the new OKI Pro series of graphics-oriented printers”. OKI noted that the machine is the “future of digital printing”, and that it “herald[s] new standards in print quality for the graphic arts industry”.
Among the features of the 9542 are its “high definition colour printing quality” and speeds of up to 50ppm, as well as printing in “white or full colour onto coloured media”. The printer uses OKI’s ProQ technology to give users “complete control over the quality of their printed materials”, with “high definition and colour depth output”. A wide range of media can be printed on, with printing white previously “only achievable with expensive digital or lithographic printing equipment”.
The news site pointed out that printing in white is “ideal for print jobs where white print is required […] to make colours stand out on darker media”, and added that the machine is “well suited for printing high density white”, which is useful for “proofing, light production and short run on-demand creative printing”. A single-pass flat paper path and “built-in automatic media calibration” also enable users to “print to the highest levels of digital print quality”.
In terms of consumables, OKI’s “ultra-high” capacity toner cartridges are said to “contribute considerably to a reduced total cost of ownership” as well as to “high coverage and quality”. The 9542 can also print on media weighing up to 360gsm single-sided and 320gsm duplex, and on sizes from A6 to SRA3, alongside banners up to 1.3 metres long. The device is set to be available from dealers across Australia and New Zealand for AU$19,849 ($14,333/€13,064).
Antonio Leone, Marketing Manager for OKI Data ANZ, stated: “The new Pro9542 offers a leading fusion of print quality, design features and value, with the ability to print the full range of process colours, and the unique capability of printing white on a coloured background. With digital LED technology, high capacity toners, and incredible media compatibility, this new model redefines the flexibility and versatility that users in the graphics market can enjoy and generate revenue from.”
